So Does The List Matter?

March 14, 2012 in List Building

How often have you seen in an internet article that says that the money is in the list? Almost tempted to say that it was more times than I had eaten hot dinners but, at my age, that might be an overstatement although probably not by much.

List building can be a profitable way to build your business but it is not the nirvana that so many internet marketers make it out to be.

Look at it like this. Most internet marketers would say a list of 100,000 is something to aim for. You have only managed to build a list of 100. That does look bad in their eyes. Yet this is where the marketers go wrong.

The Money is in The List?

March 3, 2012 in List Building, Stategy

If I had received £1 for every time I had read an internet marketer say that the money is in the list then I would probably have a house at the expensive end of town. I could sit there by the pool and just casually send out an email every time I needed money. Tens or hundreds of thousands would simply come rolling in from one little email to the all important list. That means that there is money in the list according to their simplistic argument.

When Should I email the List?

March 3, 2012 in Stategy

It is not a question of when is the best time to email the list?. Rather, marketers need to ask themselves Is there a best time to email it?

Comment Spam Not Welcome Here

February 26, 2012 in Content

There is a well known track from AC/DC that goes For those about to rock, we salute you

Well this site has a similar slogan that I am about to explain.

We have been facing an increasing amount of comment spam in recent weeks. They frequently give the same URL but a different email address. Of course the email address will fail if we choose to send a message asking them to stop their worthless comment spam because it has been faked. Nobody seems to want to act against these spammers as I have reported several of them to their service provider yet no action has been taken. And yes I do investigate to find the ISP that the spam originated from.

Is It Easy To get Off Your Email List?

February 13, 2012 in List Building

So I'm a glutton for punishment and, over the years, I've signed up to more email lists than I've had hot dinners.

Time comes when a person will think that it is getting too much. Time to start getting off some of those lists so that the email inbox is manageable again.

It is usually easy because most follow the rule that requires a link at the bottom of the email that will allow the recipient to unsubscribe from that email list. Not always though!

February 12, 2012 in Content, SEO

Is this a new Internet Marketing scheme or some kind of cult?. You may have had email from Joe Vitale that talks about hopnopo so is it something to do with that? Reasonable first reactions to the title of this but incorrect. The meaning of OPO is something completely different. Internet Marketers need to be aware of it because it can have a significant effect on both search engine and user response. So the question is Do You OPO?

Are Your Goals SMART?

February 12, 2012 in Goal Setting

The title may be completely wrong because many involved in Internet Marketing have no clearly defined goals. They may have a vague idea of the direction in which they are heading in yet not have a clear idea of the end where they want to be. Without goals then people just drift along. They may achieve some of the things that they desire but, without the goals in place, they are not being steered in the right direction.

There are processes for validating Goals and one common one is the SMART system. That is an acronym that means
